This article gives you a completely free receipt book template download that I personally designed and have updated for 2025 tax requirements. Why Every U.S. Small Business Needs a Printable Receipt Book in 2025

Cash transactions haven’t disappeared—according to IRS Publication 583 (Starting a Business and Keeping Records), you must still provide a receipt for every payment received and keep a copy for at least three years (or longer in some cases). A physical receipt book template free remains the simplest way for landscapers, handymen, market vendors, landlords, and dozens of other cash-based businesses to stay compliant.

Digital receipts are great when they work, but customers still ask for paper, internet goes down, and phones die. That’s why thousands of my clients keep a printed receipt book in the truck or at the register.
